6.4 Errors in Making Intention

During Ramadhan, if one neglects to make intention for either the fast, or for breaking it, and abstains from everything which could break the fast, then the fast will be considered invalid and one will have to make up the fast. One will not, however, be required to observe the fast [inspite of one’s being competent to do so], and then eats, according to Imam Abu Hanifah, one will not have to make up a fast of expiation, kaffarah, and only has to make up a qada’.

The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa'sallam said:
"The Muslim is a unique Ummah among the whole of mankind:
Their Land is ONE, their War is ONE, their Peace is ONE,
Their Honour is ONE and their Trust is ONE."
[Ahmad]
